On February 6, 2023 communities throughout central and southern Turkey and northern Syria were rocked by two powerful earthquakes. The first - a 7.8-magnitude - occurred in the early hours of the day as people were still asleep and was felt as far as Israel and Lebanon. The second was a 7.5-magnitude quake that shook the region just six hours later. The full scale of damage is still unknown, but thousands of buildings were destroyed across more than a dozen cities, killing over 45,000 people and injuring hundreds of thousands more.

World Central Kitchen (WCK) WCK’s Relief Team has established operations across Turkey and through partners in Syria, making and delivering fresh meals to displaced families and emergency crews stretched thin due to the scale of the disaster. Donations will be used to directly support WCK’s meal preparation and delivery efforts in both countries. .
