Greetings all in the Name of Jesus.
1 Corinthians has some powerful insights for life and faith. Near the end is this “jewel” …just in time for some encouragement for this Labor Day Weekend.
“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Cor. 15:58 NIV)
Let’s have some fun unpacking this verse for insights for our lives.
1. “. . .my dear brothers. . .”: What a great time to be a part of St. Pauls/Bella Vista Ministry . . .brothers and sisters in Christ…connected, related, and united through vision and purpose. . .that all may know Jesus!
2. “stand firm. . .”: Life sure can toss in any variety of slippery slopes…illness, challenges to our most significant relationships, doubts, fears. . . To which Paul writes. . .
3. “Let nothing move you.” Well, sounds good, but how can that happen? The answer. . .
4. “Give yourself fully to the work of the Lord. . .” And this is not just a “Sunday Morning” thing! This is a life lived each day, each moment seeking God’s will and God’s way with the ability to persevere through the knowledge that…
5. “. . .your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” The Lord sees your hurt. The Lord sees your trials. The Lord sees your integrity. The Lord sees your “labor” in Him! This is comforting. This helps us not “blow our own horn.” The Lord knows. . .the Lord sees. . .and that is enough to keep us “standing firm”. . . and “giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord.”
God’s bless every labor in Him!
